Our focus is on patient centered healing and not disease centered. This approach supports the unique expression of health and vitality for each individual, bringing hope to patients with unexplained symptoms. It seeks to identify the root of the disease by addressing the underlying causes. Instead of the traditional disease-centered focus of medical practice, it addresses the individual as a whole by studying their histories along with examining at the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health as well as complex, chronic diseases.
The illustrative image of an iceberg shows examples of diseases such as diabetes, cancer, arthritis and/or fibromyalgia that are visible above the surface. However the cause of these diseases lies in the altered physiology below the surface. Almost always, the cause of the disease and its symptoms is an underlying dysfunction and/or an imbalance of bodily systems.
If health care treats just the tip of the iceberg, it rarely leads to long-term relief and vibrancy. By identifying and treating the underlying root cause or causes, there is a better chance to successfully resolve a patient's health challenge.
Using scientific principles, advanced diagnostic testing and treatments other than drugs or surgery, we seek to restore balance in the body's primary physiological processes.
